Claire Armes joined Warwickshire Police as Assistant Chief Constable in March 2025.
She began her policing journey as a Special Constable in Torquay. Just a few days after graduating from University, Claire joined Devon and Cornwall Police as an officer, and has never looked back.
Over the next 19 years she experience a variety of roles, including patrol, SNT, custody, intelligence, and specialist operations. One of the proudest moments of her career was becoming the BCU Commander for the very same area where I first started as a Special Constable, a full-circle moment that will always hold a special place in my heart.
She joined Avon-and-Somerset Police in 2019 and has worked with HMICFRS, the College of Policing, and even internationally in various countries.
